Ed Morgan, Founder & Principal
Ed Morgan is Founder and Principal of Inspirational Leadership, LLC, dedicated to the needs of non-profit CEOs and Entrepreneurs. Ed is a creative and seasoned leader with uniquely broad qualifications developed over more than 40 years of successful Fortune 10 and non-profit leadership experience.
Renaissance at the Bowery Mission
Prior to creating Inspirational Leadership, Ed served as President and CEO of the Bowery Mission for more than 20 years, leading the 136 year-old organization to a renaissance in reputation, program effectiveness and income.
Under Ed's leadership, the Mission and its parent organization, Christian Herald Association, reorganized, focusing on an outcomes-based purpose statement, and built five of the City's most effective homelessness recovery programs, including one that partners with the City of New York and two that are Manhattan's only faith-based residential programs for women. The organization increased its income four-fold, cultivated civic leaders, influencers and friends nationwide, raised its visibility, and established high-profile events such as a Valentine Gala that raises a million dollars annually.
From 2012 to 2014, Ed led a successful capital campaign that raised almost $13 million, expanded The Bowery Mission into three new neighborhoods, and essentially doubled its capacity for transforming the lives of New York's most vulnerable children and homeless adults.
Upon his retirement from the CEO role in 2015, he formed the Bowery Mission Foundation. In 2016, Ed was named President Emeritus, continuing to cultivate relationships for the Mission.
Corporate Career with GE
Prior to joining The Bowery Mission, Ed had a 20-year career with General Electric in Washington D.C., Fairfield, CT, and Stratford, CT, where he was in charge of creating inspirational communications for several of GE's top officers, won several management awards and founded an award-winning customer magazine.

In addition to leadership experience, Ed has extensive Board experience. He chaired the Board at Christian Heritage School, Trumbull, CT, for 12 years during the school's accreditation and greatest growth period. He has served as Vice Chairman of the Board of the Association of Gospel Rescue Missions and received their Lifetime Achievement Award.
